Not able to assist
I took my TV in to returns on Saturday, its less than 3 years old and on an extended warranty which I paid a LOT for. Despite being told by the lady at returns that I would hear from them within the week, NO ONE called me. I had to constantly call, and get passed from person to person before finding out from someone in accounts that my TV can't be repaired, and someone from Makro would call me to arrange credit.
Didn't hear from anyone - so called the Multimedia dept who offered me a credit as my TV is no longer made.
This absolutely won't work and is unfair - the reason I paid extra for the extended warranty is to get my TV replaced - with a credit of the amount I would now only be able to afford a much smaller TV and the credit will see me having to fork out thousands more for a larger one.
I was told to hold for Nkosi, director of returns, however I held for ages and no answer.
I have been without a TV for a week now and really hoped to have it sorted by this weekend - but at this rate, I won't even be able to afford another TV unless I'm willing to settle for something smaller than what I had - which is not fair,
Been a loyal Makro customer for years - but very disappointed.
Thank you for bringing the query to our attention.
The TV was handed in for repair on the 7.11.2015 and the supplier picked it up on the 10.11.2015
The supplier has up to 6 weeks to repair the item - however the vast majority are completed quicker than this. If the supplier is unable to fix your TV, they will communicate with you direct before the end of next week.
When you bought the set in May 2013, the price of R8999.00, that you paid, was an excellent price.
LCD and LED pricing has eroded between 20% and 40% as a deflationary position since 2013.
This is the market on this category right now, and not much as a retailer we can do about it.
We, in no way profiteer, we trade very small margins on this category, and try to lead prices to market for our customers benefit.
Prices change in this market. They are going to continue to change going forward.
