Never buy lawnmower from Makro

I purchased a ryobi petrol lawnmower at makro in july on special (Display Unit). In Oct when I wanted to cut the lawn for the time it did not want to start. I then took it back and now they quote me R2000 to repair it. Why do I have to pay for repairs on a brand new lawnmower that I did not manage to use even once?
