Misleading price on shelf

My first experience with Makro in Brakpan today was very disappointing. We went to buy a universal remote and saw a very good quality one there on the self for R199 and took it. We tried talking to one of the persons working there to find out if the remote will work on our system but he didn't know much about the remote but he said we could return it if it doesn't work. After going through the whole store we went to the tills to pay and at the till and when scanning the remote it camr up as R699... We were very shocked and disappointed. We could have looked at other places for the remote or even a different remote that will work that is affordable at a different place. It is very misleading to have a price on the shelf and a very different price at the till. The service was not bad there and the lady, Veronica, who helped us was very friendly but at the end we had to leave empty handed and how many other prices are incorrect and driving customers away?
