Misinformation, delays, and now stock shortages?
I placed an order and paid for it on the 25th of November. Despite ALL of my items indicating that they were available for Collection at my two nearest branches, upon checkout I was informed that my items were only available for delivery (due to no stock in my chosen stores). Fine, I am okay with paying a delivery fee to ensure that I actually receive the items by having stock immediately allocated to my order.
I received an email on the 29th indicating that delivery MAY be delayed due to the high volume of orders. This is also fine as I ordered early enough for a delay to not be an issue.
During the past two weeks, I have been keeping an eye on in-store stock for my items. This way, if delivery takes too long, I can drive out of my way to the store to purchase the items and cancel the online order and hope for a fast refund. As of yesterday, the items I ordered were each still in stock in AT LEAST one Makro store out of the three WC branches.
Now I have received an email indicating that Makro is "experiencing a stock shortage on the product(s) in your order" and these items no longer appear on the Makro website. HOW is this possible when the website showed there was still stock available in stores yesterday? Why was the stock allocated to my order not immediately removed from shelves if Makro didn't have warehouse stock available?
I would like to know when I will receive the items that I have paid for.
