The "Returns Counter" at Makro Woodmead, Johannesburg, South Africa, is dire. The staff is surly, clearly not trained, and mostly absent. I have had the misfortune to have returned items on 2 occasions in the last couple of weeks, i.e. September 2024, and on the first occasion waited for 30 minutes whilst being studiously ignored by the sole counter assistance, who spent her time advising an increasingly frustrated customer that, although the item he was returning, was indeed faulty, and that he was due a response, she was unable to assist him and was unwilling to summons the relevant supervisor. Much the same happened this morning i.e. 17th September 2024. I was 4th in line, and waited a good 25 minutes for the sole assistant to work her very slow way through the waiting customers. I attempted to phone the store manager whilst in line, but after being put on hold by the national call center for 10 minutes, gave that up as a bad job. Time for Makro to up its game!
