MAKRO - TOASTER NOT WORKED OR USED

I bought 3 items online end March not knowing lockdown was coming our way as I had relocated from PTA to KZN of which one was a toaster. All 3 items stood in storage until beg Aug when I could finally move out of the guesthouse into a house. On unpacking the toaster found out it trips the power so as I don't work close to a Makro have had it in my office up to now and got it to a depot this week only to be told I cannot get a refund? According to the Consumer Protection Act that is not correct and Makro are just not budging. It is still brand new in all its packaging, has never been used as it trips the power, I don't even want a replacement, just my money back, R400 is a lot to pay for something that you cannot use! Their service is UNACCEPTABLE!
