Makro sucks

I recently went to do an upgrade at makro cornubia, I was advised to contact Vodacom direct. Vodacom advised me that makro to contact their trade partner. Makro refused and was advised to do an upgrade at a Vodacom store. Is this how customers are treated. What about my costs going to makro. Is this how a retailer behaves.
