Makro Strubens Valley - very bad online service and no delivery, no refund. Just lost approx R800

Makro orders online - very bad service.

I ordered cat food from the Makro Strubens Valley in Roodepoort on the 3rd of January 2025.

I paid online immediately and delivery said next day delivery on their system.

The following day I receive a message saying that some items have been cancelled from my order. And note that these items were showing in stock, in store.

After that, on the 6th of January 2025 the driver calls me at 17:49pm asking me for my address even though he has it. I still give it to him again. He immediately says to me that he can't find the place and he logs a ticket saying that he could not reach me.

I called the Makro online call Centre to find out what's going on. Here I thought someone more professional would have handled the call, but instead the lady says to me that because I stay in a complex, I should not list my unit number in future. So I asked her then how would the driver know what unit to ask for at the boom gates. She further says that she can't check when the order will be delivered.

On the 8th of January, this is where I took my hat off. I get an sms at 12:30pm saying that Ndivhuwo is en route to deliver your parcel. Later at 15:29pm I get an sms saying that my order has been delivered to me. To my surprise, I've been waiting at home and no delivery. I go up to the security, nothing has been delivered. I return to my apartment, call the Makro online Centre again. The person tells me that it shows delivered.

Well done to makro. What makes it even nicer is they claim to have refunded me for the items that were cancelled but where's the refund delivered to?

Plus I was dumb to go and order the expensive packs.
