Makro stocking inferior quality Polaroid products

We bought a Polaroid boom box from Makro on 29 October 2019 as a gift for my son's birthday in November. During the last 3 weeks of October 2020, the boom box was not coming on - we assumed that it needed to be fully charged. After which it came on , however, in the last week of October despite fully charging it, it went dead. By the time that we realised that there was something wrong with the boombox and found the purchase slip , the warranty had expired by 4 days. Makro refuse to send the boom box to Polaroid for repairs. It is very discouraging to note that these products only last as long as the guarantee despite that it cost us R1,400 of our hard earned cash. I now associate Polaroid with very poor quality & Makro for not exercising reasonable judgement in assessing this situation fairly.
