Makro Silverlakes - Disgusting customer service

We bought a TV from Makro about a month ago. On opening the TV and using it, a white dot appeared on the screen. We took the TV back to Makro Silver lakes which is near our home and requested an exchange. As this was out of the 7 day notice period, they told us that a technician needed to be sent out first to assess the TV and see if it can be repaired. After about a week the technician came out and said the TV was missing pixels and gave us an authorization for an exchange. Upon visiting Makro Silver lakes today, they advised us that they had no stock and were unable to exchange the TV as they had discontinued it and it was on promotion at the time of purchase. They apparently checked other branches and had no luck. They then offered me a lesser model TV or display TV which we did not want as the TV was bought brand new and not even two months old. They also tried to convince us to buy a more expensive TV which really wasn't the point but a sales tactic. After being furious at the lack of help and couldn't care attitude from the staff and sales manager, we left the store. We then took the TV to the Makro Woodmead branch where we were told that the TV was not discontinued and that they should have stock in about three weeks. I feel that is is very unfair that they couldnt be bothered to try and help replace a tv that was sold to us and was faulty from the start, there was no effort or consistency in their story, just the effort of trying to convince us to take something different and get out of their hair.
