Makro Sells **** Products

I bought a Wolf 2600w Expert lawn mower from Makro Crown Mines for R2999 plus and electric cable for R899 in December 2015. It was the last one on display as it was December as the Salesman explained, new stock was to arrive in January 2016. I took the Lawn mower with no box or manuals. I used the lawn mower that day and after running for 15 minutes, smoke started pouring out of the mower. I returned it to Makro and was advised that it will be sent in for repairs, it took 6 months yes six months till I got the mower back, the store lost the information and I had to show them the pics of the mower, I took it home none the less and used it again and guess what it started bellowing out thick white smoke. This was also a 10min run without me even finishing the rest of my yard. This was now July 2016, again I had to take the mower to the store which in itself is difficult if u loading it in a car. Again it was booked in and again it came back 7 - 8 months later.its now March 2017. I used it in September 2017, same story it malfunction i went to the store and after waiting in a long line I was told that the warranty expired and there was an assessment fee plus the cost of the repairs, I decided against it as my economic situation could not allow it. I sent the mower to a mower repair center in Boksburg, it costed R1270 to get it repaired. It’s now January 2018. The mower again malfunctioned with smoke and weird noises . I contacted Makro Care but was told the same story that it was out of warranty. I emailed Wolf Garten in Germany from a Google search, I provided pics of the mower and was told by a Senior Engineer of Wolf that this product was not Genuine but rather a licensed replica. I was disappointed that Makro sells **** products without advertising the product as a Licensed Replica to the consumer. I contacted Makro Customer Care to Complain, I asked for a credit or a replacement and they advised I go to the store for them to asses the machine. The people in the returns department are not very friendly and neither are they willing to help, everything is sent in go for repairs instead of just giving the customer a credit. I got the same sad story about it’s 5 years old and I should pay for repairs, I asked for the Manager who explained that the mowers in Sold in South Africa are all cheap imports and that the company that held the Wolf license has gone out of business, a new company has taken over and supplies Trimtech garden equipment as well as the new Wolf range, I asked if I could exchange it but was told it should go in for repairs, the lady at the desk called the repair company and was told that they don’t stock parts for my mower any longer.

This was the most awful experience I ever had at a Makro store, I will never buy electronics or anything any longer from Makro, seller of cheap **** products at inflated prices.i owned mowers in the past that worked more that 12years, I even sold them in working condition on OLX and Gumtree and Junkmail. LOL I now own a brand new mower that worked 20 minutes in total over a 5 year period and can never be repaired.

There are dozens of articles on the Wolf 2600 expert having design flaws, how does Makro even do quality checks? Or are they non existent.

Never again, I’m safer buying imports from Amazon online.
