Makro sells counterfeit Apple items claiming genuine
I ordered two pairs of Apple Airpods and counterfeit goods were received. Two - very obviously **** - pairs arrived. They even had the same serial number which is impossible as all Apple product serial numbers are unique. You can test an Apple product's authenticity on a specific website and the feedback on the website stated: The serial number matches a defective product already returned to Apple.
I notified Makro about the fact that they sell counterfeit goods. They responded with the following:
I am reaching out regarding logging a return for your purchase via the Makro website. We sincerely apologize for the delivery of **** Apple AirPods.
Please note that returns can only be initiated within 14 days of purchase. Kindly log the return through your account so that we can arrange collection of the item.
Please note: We do not offer replacements. Once the item is collected and passes a quality check, it will qualify for a refund. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
I logged the return and received the refund which I am thankful for. But my bigger concern is the fact that they are selling counterfeit goods without taking any responsibility or making changes to their supply chain.
Hi Charlotte,
We are sorry to hear that you had received counterfeit products.
We will forward your feedback to the supplier team.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
Regards,
Makro Social Media Team.
So my question is, what happens next? What are the steps that the "supplier team" will take? Because I see my review is one of hundreds dating back months and months.
