Makro selling grey goods

In July 2017, I purchased a Dell laptop from Makro Centurion. Although incredibly slow, it worked fine for several months. After a while it started overheating and giving the blue screen messages. The messages reflected that there was a problem with the hardware. My son in law, an IT expert, monitored the messages as we were unable to use it without it constantly bombing out. I put a complaint on their website for someone to contact me, but heard nothing. On 8th December we took it back to the store and were told it had to go back to the supplier for assessment and would take several weeks. Three weeks later, the laptop is still at Makro with their staff interfering with it. They wanted my password so they could access my personal profile, but we refused it. They do not need my password to send it back. I am now told that they give a 10 day warranty on their stock and it is thus out if warranty. I understand there is a 12 month guarantee, so where does this come into play? I have neither the laptop nor the money, is it assumed I paid R9000 to the Makro foundation? Please respond to my complaint as I wish to take it further.

I am still awaiting a reply to my complaint, despite your alleged escalation. I wish to have my money refunded as I have not been able to use the laptop properly since purchase. Your website states that defective goods are returned for assessment and the purchaser will receive feedback within 10 days. I have waited almost a month. Your site also states that if a defective item is returned within 6 months, it is either repaired, replaced or refunded in full. I have neither. Your staff incorrectly stated that it is out of warranty. I have been paying Netflix a subscription to view streaming services which is also wasting my money as I am unable to view without the laptop. Your staff are *********** and disinterested in resolving clients' complaints. Please do not send a generic response that this being attended to, as it clearly isn't. Rather reply via email so I can take my complaint to the consumer protection authorities.
