MAKRO SELL ****PY PRODUCTS AND DON'T CARE AFTER IT IS SOLD

Good day,

I’m hoping to get help with a gas stove that my mother purchased from Makro Vanderbijlpark in November 2021.

This was purchased for our home at the coast and when purchased they told the sales person that it will be going down to the coast and was assured that it is a stainless steel stove, it will not rust and also sold them cleaning product specifically for this stove. I have attached the slip for this purchases

Some renovations was done to the kitchen and the stove was installed only in December 2021. I have attached pictures of the rust on the stove and also all the markings that has faded/washed off? Making it now impossible to know which knob works for what plate. Not sure how this is even possible, I myself have a Goldair gas stove in for almost 5 years and it still look like the day I bought it.

Since they live at the coast, the closest Makro to them are the one in Amanzimtoti, which they have been to 4 times already. The first time they took the stove with to show them what it looks like, and was told that they should take the stove back home and someone from Alva will go to their house and inspect the stove. Well they only received a call from a very rude woman from Alva telling them that there is no guarantee on rust for this stove, it was explained to her that if they say it is stainless steel as per say, it should not rust. She told them that she will get back to them. NOTHING

If you look at the papers attached there are some names, numbers and dates when visited Makro Amanzimtoti and called Alva.

Up and until now, no one from ALVA phoned or came out to inspect this stove as promised. This is very bad customer services on their part and for Makro’s involvement to stop when an item was purchased from them, worse. Surely between these two companies, this issue should’ve and could’ve been resolved already.

My parents are pensioners and used their money to purchase this stove, thinking that it is a good buy. It obviously is an extremely bad stove and obviously also the brand Alva, this is our first experience with them and not good at all. Will definitely not buy any product with the same brand name and will definitely not recommend it to any one I know. I will also go on social media and Hello Peter, and warn people about this brand name and also Makro’s part in this whole situation, if no one from any of these two companies phone/ mail me back with a solution.

Have a look at the pictures of the stove you sell and decide for yourselves.

This is all from your website ALVA….. please explain how a advertised gas stove that is stainless steel is able to even rust

So Lucian from ALVA asked me for the name of the cleaning product and after their finding, WEIMAN cleaning product is to harsh to use, should be used with rubber gloves and not suitable for stainless steel gas stoves as advertised. Just keep in mind that the same product is used on all the other stainless equipment in the house, without gloves and no problems at all. According to his latest email we used abrasive material on the stove that caused scratches, not true at all. We had/have other brand gas stoves, used the same cleaning product, no problem.

So neither ALVA or Makro want to take responsibility for the ****py products they sell. STAY AWAY from, any ALVA product and Makro has no after customer care at all. I have all the pictures and communication if needed
