Makro Run Foul of CPA and Take advantage of senior citizens

It is highly concerning that Makro in kzn do not apply consumer protection laws. The advert clearly displayed ( I have pictures of this advert) a 125cc Lawnmower for R699. My dad, 66 years old, goes to the store and tries to purchase this lawnmower at the advertised price. Now CPA states that if there are 2 different advertised prices the client pays the lower price. The stores price was advertised at a higher price. My dad took pictures of this. When he approached management (sipho at Springfield Park) he was told that an apology was placed as a sticker on the lawnmowers for clients to see but it fell off. Dishonesty - as we have pictures of the display items with no apology attached . Siya from marketing then calls my dad to make a "settlement" offer of R1300. Then a second gentleman Thupani calls my dad to "explain" the error. Out of principal my dad refused. I am shocked at Makro a large corporate wanting to take advantage of an alleged ill informed pensioner and wanting to settle a matter that is quite clear and defined by the CPA. I demand an immediate call on this matter and Makro sticking to the price that they advertised and not try to hoodwink their innocent older clients. Nevin Narraidu ***
