Makro Riversands - what a disgrace! Do not support them!

This review is not to do with business but HUMANITY. We have tried to get hold of management without any success. We are appalled and disgusted by the way the Security manager at Makro Riversands has treated the feral cat colony. Earlier this year, we were shopping at Makro when we saw very thin emaciated kittens in the car park. We tried to get hold of management but were told they were busy. We went back a few times to try and speak to them. We were then referred to the security manager who we were told "deals with these issues". We tried to set up a meeting with the security manager several times, but he was always in meetings. We then got together with Mary from AIOAR (Diepsloot) and Barbie who traps ferals and started leaving food for the cats and we set up and trapped several cats. We have re homed five but adult feral cats CANNOT be re homed. They are normally returned. We were then informed by the security manager that we were not allowed to feed the cats anymore and they want them all gone. We have also learned that a few of the guards have killed some of the cats we neutered and returned. We have tried to explain that another feral colony will move in and the cycle will start all over again! Cats do no harm and once they are neutered, they keep the rats and mice at bay. Shame on you Makro!!!
