Makro retails useless Ellies UPS Inverter Trolleys

Makro is selling an Ellies UPS Inverter trolley system that is supposed to be a solution to the problem of having TV access during load shedding/power outages. My son bought this system for over R7000 for me and my wife - we are senior citizens - and it stopped working after 4 months due to battery failure - the battery has a 3-month warranty, so that tells you something! The supplier, Ellies, acknowledges that the system needs 12 hours to recharge and is therefore totally useless for SA conditions! But they keep supplying Makro and Makro knowingly retails the system to unsuspecting customers and refers unhappy customers to Ellies. What an incredible case of "buck passing"! Not what one would expect from a prominent retailer!
