Makro repair centre - "A *******"

I recently booked my Ryobi petrol trimmer in for repairs at Makro in Springfield Park which was still under warranty since it was purchased from them a year ago. I had a call a week later from Makro telling me that my petrol trimmer required a service and was quoted R337.00 for the service repair. I instructed them not to go ahead with the repairs and that I will collect the machine from them. I collected my trimmer yesterday (11/09/16) and was utterly flabbergasted, Makro had sent my trimmer to another third party company called "JR Tools" to be repaired and according to their job report card my trimmer was missing parts which required to be replaced. This was definetly not the case and if my machine was missing parts then Makro would have recorded these so called missing parts when the item was booked in. To make matters worse when I was trying to explain this to Makro's repair centre supervisor it was like trying to talk to a wall, makes me question Makro's recruitment process and if employing *********** people was the norm there. In addition my machine's motor and handle bars has been engraved with all sorts of codes, numbers and dates without my consent which defaces the product and its value. It's as if you sent your car in for repairs and its comes back with engraved markings on your doors, bonnet and boot!!!

In future I will purchase my appliances and equipment from an opposition store that honors their after sales services and deals with reputable repair agents which in most cases are the manufacturers of the product themselves. Also this opposition store offers a price match or even the beat the prices on promotional specials at other stores so you don't miss out on deals.

Very disappointing from Makro, I am sure they must have many more disgruted "BIG ON LIFE" customers like me!
