Makro Promotional ****

I have purchased a trailer from Makro, initially I checked the discount I would receive on their pensioners incentive which is widely publicized. The price of R 20,999 was reduced by 10% to R 18,899 which I was more than pleased with. Two weeks later I was ready to purchase the trailer; while walking to the entrance of the store I noticed a red tag on the trailer which said ON PRONMOTION with the price the same which was R 20,999.

I was told that the pensioners discount no longer app**** because the item was on promotion. Had the promotional price been lower than the original price then fine but it was not. After a lengthy debate with a manager and marketing person it was agree that I would receive a discount of R 1,000, take it or leave it. Less than half of what was available two weeks prior.

The item I bought was not new stock as it was received in September 2024 by Makro. UNFAIR FROM AN ORGANISATION THAT TALKS BIG.
