MAKRO POOR AFTER SERVICE SAILES AND PATHETIC SERVICE

Good day My husband bought a HP Tank printer on 26/04/19 at Makro, Cape Gate. The printer started giving problems occationally, but he could still manage some printing despite many frustrations. Just after Lock Down has started in March, the printer would not feed any paper. My husband (turning 65) has a serious health problem and practiced lockdown quarantine until he felt comfortable leaving the house. On 23/07/20, he took the printer to Makro. I accompanied my husband and I would like to bring under your attention that we saw 7 HP Printers behind the counter that came in for repairs!

Because he is running a Small Business from home, he requires a printer. Despite very bad "Service Experience" (staff not responding, and false promises, not getting through to Customer Services telephonically, e-Mail enquiries ignored), he eventually went back to Makro twice to find out about the progress. In total, more than 3 hours were spent in the store. Some of the staff listened to the problem, told him to wait en then just disappeared. Frustration, frustration! On Friday, (21/08/20), I went to Makro. After waiting more than 2.5 hours, a lady informed me that they have now received a quotation for repairs. We have to pay R950 for repairs. I have tried to explain that my husband was under quarantine due to Corona/Lock down and could not bring the printer earlier, but received an "cold shoulder" and all attempts to speak to a senior manager has failed.

Instead of lodging a complaint on social media, I thought I would rather explain my problem on the Makro Customer Services site as a last option. This was on 23 August 2020, and I have not received any response since.

Reviewer Update
Good morning

Chapter 6 or 7 of this nightmare! After my correspondence on 09 October, we received an SMS from Macro with a reference number, informing us that our printer is ready for collection. I must state that Makro store is not around the corner from where we stay. I drove there on Saturday morning and as I walked out with the printer, I said to myself (and the Security Assistant heard me) : "This is not our printer!" I was on my way to another appointment and left.

When I got home, I immediately told my husband that this is not our printer for various reasons. I have checked and compared the JOBCARD with our documentation and it was the same. We could not find the Serial Number on this printer and apart from dirt on the printer, it had sticky glue marks.

We have returned our printer in the original box with all cables, installation cd and instructions. This printer was handed to me over the counter and only when I got home, I noticed that the cables etc have not been handed to me.

On Saturday afternoon ((10 October), my husband took the printer back and informed them about our findings. After talking and explaining to 2 people, the Manageress came to the desk and told my husband .....( wait for this ...) "They have just given us any printer because of the pressure on them."

  1. What is the intention here?
  2. I am asking: "Why did they give us a JOBCARD with all our own detail and our printer detail?
  3. Can I view this as *****?
  4. We have been quoted R950 to have our printer fixed.... and "any old printer" was returned to us.
  5. Where is and/or what happened to our printer ????
I don't have words to express my disappointment.
