Makro Online Shopping

I have to date done about 4-5 online orders for delivery with Makro.

I unfortunately now reached my tolerance limit with the retail supplier online shopping experience. After the first, second and third orders, I still had hope that I would receive a better experience the next time I would place an order and with no lies, each and every single time I have been disappointed.

Each order I have ever placed, I never once received everything/item I checked out. Of items that has been cancelled, and it was on promotion, they do not have options like substitutions or replacement or refund. For e.g – The Liqui Fruit special 4 x 1itres for R100- which I selected. Only to receive notification now that there are more than 10 of my items that has been cancelled (incl a few liquifruit juices) apparently due to “ out of stock” so they just disregard the “ special” and just leave the one flavour that is available so then you compelled to accept the cost of that one or go through another schlep of “returning” the singled-out product and processing the refund.

Then, the infamous “out of stock” caption – I bet you, just go instore, the very store that you would receive your items from, there the items are “ in stock” on the shelves. I just keep shaking my head, like what logical explanation could there be for this? I mean even if it has to be outsourced from another branch, what is the reason for it being available online and not getting it, but it is actually available in store when you go there yourself????

The mission of being refunded, why must you wait so long to get the refund when they could tell you a day after your order has been placed that they “ out of stock” but yet you have to wait 3-5 days AFTER the balance of your items has been delivered???? Make that make sense please? Why not initiate the refund the moment you advise the customer that its “ out of stock”?

Before you check out the system tell you “ this item is no longer in stock” then you need to remove it from your cart in order to proceed to check-out, so I ask again how is it suddenly not available after you`ve placed the order and senses could be that the last of those items could possibly be taken by other staff shopper doing another customers order, right? But then how it when you go that very day you were informed about the cancelled items that just about every item is on the shelf in store??

Perhaps shoppers just doesn’t feel the need to look further and beyond a supposed to be isle or designated area? I don’t know, how could I always only receiving half or less than half of my items with almost every order!

Then you find the “system glitch” try putting some promotional products into your cart, selecting your preferred More4Less deal, add to your cart and guess what, the “ promotion” doesn’t apply, You then try to restart your device or machine thinking its cookies or something, your clear history, you do just about everything but it still doesn’t apply the promotion. For e.g- experienced with the Royco Pasta Sauces 5 for R75, and the Roses Cordials supposed to be 2 for R55 – buy one get one free, selected the deals checked also under eligible products, added to cart but reflected the individual price, took it a step further to “ check out” and not even then did the promotional price apply.

Not to mention try editing your cart, its slower than a computer running on a floppy disc.

You ever try to reach out to the online customer care team?, they end up somewhat interrogating you to the point you want to reply with everything but nice words! Cross questioning “ did you select the deal”? I sent you snippets of the deal I selected and proof it shows for e.g “ free gift” IN MY CART, so why not find a solution than to throw questions at me and try to make me doubt myself as if I F***- up, when I proved with my initial enquiry/concern showing I did it the RIGHT way. What is the intention behind this behaviour? that I would just lay down and absorb the cost for someone who doesn’t feel to fulfil their job`s responsibilities? Nope, not this customer.

Extremely annoyed, yesterday’s order was the last for me until Makro can really enhance their online shopping experience to being at least pleasant if not excellent.
