MAKRO - ONGOING FALSE ADVERTISING WITHOUT CONSEQUENCE

I went on Makro online looking for a TCL 75P8K tv. Its the new 2025 version high end tv in the 75inch range for TCL. Makro on their have the picture of the tv I wanted with a price of R11,999. I have been looking everywhere for that tv and when I saw it I placed the order immediately. To my delight it was delivered the next day- only to discover they sent me the entry level version that does not have the specs I wanted. I took the TV unopened to Makro Centurion and insisted that they give me the tv I ordered, which is the tv they advertised at the advertised price and the acknowledged that what happened was wrong but they refused to change it. According to Section 29 and Section 41 of the Consumer Protection Act 71 of 2008 (“the CPA”), sellers are prohibited from making false adverti*****ts, which are aimed at misleading consumers to purchase the goods offered or enter into contracts which they would otherwise not have concluded. I am approaching the National Consumer Commission and lodging a report with the Advertising Regulatory Board. The advert is still up as I type this. This is ongoing false advertising and is *******. These big companies think they can take advantage of us. Enough is enough.
