Makro not refunding cancelled order
Ordered 3 appliances online on 20 November 2023 and changed my mind and cancelled it almost immediately afterwards. Sent emails and called the contact centre as well. 1 item was cancelled and since 20 November I have still not received my refund. The contact centre consistently says they’ve escalated it to the refunds department and there’s no contact details for them. This is pathetic and tantamount to thievery. I am at a point of lodging a ******** case with SAPS.

09 Dec 2023, 08:13Despite me reviewing Makro on HelloPeter, further follow ups and a message on LinkedIn to Massmart’s CEO there has been no progress. This is an SMS I received this morning “…Hi Mf - we note you inquired the other day about the progress of your Makro order MAK***. The courier has notified us this order has now been delivered - we hope you enjoy your purchase. If you have any further questions please just reply to this SMS.” this is theft and *****. These goods were not delivered. I will go now to the police station to make a ******** case for theft and *****.

12 Dec 2023, 12:00Called the call centre again 12 December and they have still not even begun processing the refund. Do not buy online from Makro! It’s a real struggle to get any service from them. Takelot is far superior.

No progress through their contact centre which is like hitting your head against a brick wall; no response from Massmart’s CEO. They just don’t care. Worst online experience ever. Think twice before buying from Makro online.
