Makro - Long Overdue Order Refund
We made a purchase online for a Russel Hobbs Fire Place Gas Heater (R 4,499) on the 20 June 2023, delivered on Friday the 23rd June 2023 and unpacked on the weekend to reorganised that there is a tend on the side. Return the item to Silver Lakes – Pretoria, credit note/order ***. We received confirmation on the 28th June 2023 that “Your refund request ***6 has been successfully refunded”. Waiting for 7 working days, but no money In. I contacted Makro support a couple of times, Ref No – ***, every time the call will be escalating to their Manager. We have been waiting for the refund until today the 18 July 2023! This is unfair and unprofessional; we are very disappointed with Makro services.

02 Aug 2023, 07:56 See David Mabena (Makro's reply) above, “Please accept our sincere apologies for the delayed response. Please be aware that the amount was refunded in a form of a credit note, kindly go to the store and redeem the amount by producing the attached invoice.” Unfortunately, we could not go to Makro Silver Lakes earlier, but we visited the Makro Silver Lakes store on Saturday the 29/07/2023. Again, no one knew about the refund or could find anything on the system. This behavior is unacceptable from Makro, you all work on SAP and transactions are visible and can be traced. We drove from Rustenburg to Silver Lakes on Saturday 29/07/2023 for nothing, this is our time and petrol waste and all we got from Brian (Makro Silver Lakes Manager) is sorry cannot help you, we must investigate. My husband and I did not appreciate the assumptions that Brian made towards our son who returned the product on the 26/06/2023. He suggested we must speak to our son again because it shows a credit note was created and given to him. David Mabena (Makro) requested bank statement on the 31 July 2023 from the day the order was placed until the 1st of July – responded to David on the 31 July 2023. Still no reponse!
