Makro failing us again

Makro SA has failed to honour a valid warranty. I purchased a Brother printer with a 5-year warranty, which broke down after just 10 months. Makro collected the unit nearly four weeks ago for repairs, only to now inform me that they refuse to fix it—claiming the presence of a ****roach inside the machine. This excuse is not only implausible but suggests an attempt to evade their warranty obligations.

The printer was stored and used in a clean environment, and if contamination occurred, it’s far more likely to have happened in their warehouse or during transit. Makro’s response is unacceptable and undermines consumer trust. Warranties and guarantees should be honoured, not dismissed with baseless claims.

I expect Makro to take accountability and resolve this matter appropriately.
