Makro Failed Delivery & Ignored Refund Request – Over a Week of Delays

I placed an order for a fridge with Makro Online on 7 April, with an expected delivery date of 9 April. The fridge was never delivered. On 11 April, I contacted Makro (***) and was told they would “follow up with the store” and get back to me. I never received any feedback. On 14 April, I followed up again and received the exact same generic response — no progress, no delivery date, and no accountability. On 15 April, Makro called me (***) to say they would follow up AGAIN. At that point, I declined and clearly requested a full refund instead, as the delivery had already missed the agreed timeframe by nearly a week. I then sent a formal email requesting refund confirmation within 48 hours, failing which I would escalate the matter. It has now been over 48 hours with no response, no refund, and no communication. This level of service is completely unacceptable. This is not the first time I have experienced delivery issues with Makro, but this has been by far the worst. I have now initiated a chargeback through my bank and will also be escalating this matter to the relevant consumer protection bodies. Makro needs to take accountability for failed deliveries and stop hiding behind “we are following up with the store” responses. Avoid Makro Online if you expect reliable delivery or service.
