Makro Extended Warranty| Miserable experience so far
I continue to have an extremely poor experience with Makro Woodmead. I bought an extended warranty for my high end Samsung television. TV stopped showing picture, and goes on off when connects, a few months post manufacturing warranty. I submitted my Extended Warranty claim on Thurs Aug 3rd. MakroSure Policy nos ***. Now, in the 8th working day since the submission, I have received zero communication from the supplier/brand or 'head office' where Makro Woodmead sent the claim. I have followed up every second day, and still no movement. This is shocking. The sales person convinced me to add the R 2000 approx extended warranty to my purchase, and now it comes across as a sham. Do not offer the insurance product, if there is zero process in place to handle claims. Makro please jump on this; it is really poor! And the world cup starts soon.
While i appreciated the call from Mpho who arranged the pick up from my TV of a supplier SVS Electronics ( obviously approved my Makro or Sumsung) SVS picked up on time as promised on Monday 14 Aug. I did not hear back from them and phoned them on 16th Aug, for them to only tell me that the repair time is minimum two weeks as they have to order a part. Also, that the repair will cost more than a new or replacement Television; yet it will take a minimum additional two weeks. This means I will be without a television for minimum four weeks from first day i sent my extended warranty claim to Makro. Surely a replacement would have been better customer service especially if repair cost is more than a new product cost. Remains a very disappointing experience, that fact that I also have to follow up on SVS to get status checks is poor.
