Makro exploits consumer rights and sells malfunctioning electronics, worst possible customer service

I purchased an LG Microwave worth R4000 on special in January 2023 at Makro Wonderboom. Little did I know that was the worst mistake of my life and that Makro would exploit my consumer rights. The stupid microwave broke down in June 2023, I took it in for a refund but I was told policy doesn't allow returns onoy repairs. As I investigated I found out that the call was not logged for credit return, the stupid agent instead logged a call for repair that didn't help since the microwave broke again in September, makro wonderboom further took it to LG for repairs and promised this time I will get a refund. I then received a call on the 20th September that the microwave has been repaired and credit was not passed. Again the blame was put on LG as the supplier that their found no reason for a refund. May iterate the abrupt call from a Makro agent saying there's nothing they can do.

I fail to understand how Makro would exploit the consumer rights law to those unaware of their rights and worst of all employ people and teach them to protect stock and not allow goods to be returned when faulty.

Makro used to be a quality product store and customer oriented retailer now turned profit focused, and forgot its the consumer that's brings its profit.

I am appalled and angry of this worst customer service. Again I say I am not going to pick up that microwave, I want my money back. I will further take this to the consumer rights ombudsman, even If i have to get another legal perspective I will Makro Wonderboom.

To everyone, stay away from purchasing electronics at Makro Wonderboom, you'll regret the customer service. Makro's electronics are always braking or malfunctioning.

Be careful South Africa, i urge you to exercise your rights as a consumer and don't allow to be bul**** by retailers.
