Makro dont adhere to the CPA rules

On the 02nd October I purchased a Zodiac pool cleaner from Makro for R2799 , we recently purchased water for our renovated pool. We noticed that the pool cleaner didn’t move much and would stop after a meter. Thinking it was maybe our pump or filter we had the pump serviced and sand filter replaced. Still the pool cleaner wouldn’t move it would just sit and the bottom of the pool. On 15 November I then decided to take it back to Makro and request a refund as it does not do what is required. First the returns office advised me that they don’t normally deal with Zodiac returns and I must call the supplier (I Purchased this from Makro not Zodiac and no one advised us of such terms) I told them no I don’t have time they need to deal with it. Reluctantly they took the unit and advised it will be sent to Zodiac and we would have feedback in 5 days. Well I called after 5 days and I was advised someone would call me back. I called after 10days and advised someone would again call me back. I called again and was advised that I must come collect the unit I was shocked firstly I advised I don’t want it as it doesn’t work and then I get told I must come collect it, for what ? I advised to talk to a manger and then again was advised someone will call me. Still nothing and today is 17days. This is shocking service from Makro- As per the CPA we have the right to receive goods that are of good quality and will be durable and usable for a reasonable period of time. Clearly Makro doesn’t adhere to the CPA rules. It’s very easy don’t sell Zodiac if you will not hold the guarantee or warranty.
