MAKRO DOESN'T COMPLY WITH THEIR OWN POLICIES

My wife erroneously purchased 3 PC games on a special for R100 plus another for R39, thinking they were DVD movies. They were intended for the grandsons to watch over school holidays.

She opened 2 of them and only then realized her mistake.

Makro refused to take them back despite their posted returns policy that items can be returned for refund within 14 days of purchase, citing that \it is a copyright issue - we could have copied the discs then returned them\". Possible, but they have immediately suspected us of foul play and assumed the worst of us which is, in my book, deformation of character by the store involved. A second employee told my wife that they have issues with people purchasing items, leaving them in the shop, changing the till slips in the car park then trying to claim the \"outstanding\" items in cash. Not our problem, but Makro has now used as an excuse to dishonour their own policy- we purchased the items honestly, made an honest mistake and have now been disadvantaged due to the behavior of others. Makro may also be infringing on the CPA.

"
