Makro didn't allow us to return goods in seven (7) days!

On Tuesday 16 June 2020 we have bought a KIC fridge from Brakpan Macro store for the CPF (Community Policing Forum) office. We have plugged in the fridge in (trusting it would work) and left the office. On Friday we went to the office to find that the fridge is faulty and didn't get cold at all. On Saturday morning we took the fridge back to the Macro store in Brakpan, only to be told that they are not going to replace the fridge with a new one or refund us, but we have to take it home and they will send a technician to check it out sometime. Now us I understand the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008: S 16, 19 (5) & (8), 20, 55 (3), 56 - The consumer may choose whether he wants the item repaired, replaced or receive a refund. Correct me if I'm wrong. The fridge was faulty from the start and we were in our right to return it and not have it repaired (as a second hand item).
