Makro Cornubia selling broken fridges!

I recently purchased a Hisense double door fridge with no water dispenser from Makro Cornubia on the 14th June 2022, it was delivered to me on the 15th June 2022. The fridge was extremely noisy and frosting up a bit so I called them to notify them. A Hisense technician came out to me and told the store to do a swap or a credit for that fridge.

I spoke to one of the employees at Makro Cornubia and told him I would prefer to have the swap done on the fridge. He had told me that the fridge will be delivered in a week or 2. When I called him to confirm the ETA, he then tells me that the model is discontinued and I will have to take another fridge for R1000 more to which I refused because I was told that the other fridge was being delivered. The manager agreed to give me the Hisense side by side 514l fridge with the water dispenser as a straight swap.

The second fridge was delivered to me on the 14th July, the very next morning we noticed that the freezer had completely frosted up and that the seal was not properly sealing. I called up the guy that I had been dealing with and notified him, he told me he was on leave and would log my query on Monday with Hisense. When I called him on Tuesday the lady that answered said he was on leave, but upon further investigation it turned out that he was at work. Eventually a technician came out to me and said the exact same thing.

What really got me upset was that the guy said there was not anything he could do for me. I could either wait for a new Hisense fridge of a different model (508l) or I could pay in R2000 and get a DEFY fridge, however he can't guarantee that it will work. I did explain to him that I cannot spend R2000 more for a fridge, I need a fridge that works from them. I am so upset as I have always liked Hisense but this is the 2nd Hisense fridge within a space of a month that is not working from Makro Cornubia. It seems to be that Makro Cornubia is selling old stock or broken fridges. I also contacted Hisense myself and they have confirmed that both those fridges have been discontinued for over a year now!
