Makro colluding with the Consumer Council?
I have been chasing a false advertising claim at Makro online shopping for almost a year now. Last year in November 2023, they advertised discounts on many items, but none of the discounts were processed when payment was effected. Makro has hoodwinked, misdirected and misrepresented facts continuously to get out of paying the refund. They have blatantly **** to the Consumer Council, who themselves are either *********** or colluding with Makro. This ombudsman, has had this case for over 6 months, and it remains open and unresolved despite numerous follow ups.

10 Sept 2024, 08:21Makro has rep**** with the same response they made here on Hellopeter when I wrote about this issue when it arose almost a year ago in 2023. Promises to resolve etc etc etc. same promise that many of their management team have made subsequently and never delivered on, despite numerous follow ups in email, telephone, surveys. Even bringing the Consumer Council, and showing dated screenshots of the specials they’d advertised at the time vs the invoice and my bank statements, doesn’t change the attitude or approach. They just continue with their usual. No refund.
