Makro advert misrepresentation and subsequent cover up

Order was delivered on 3 November and Makro was contacted to advise that part was missing from purchase. Call centre assistant agreed that it would make sense and would be cost effective to send missing part rather than return bulky purchase to be delivered again with missing part. 2 days later we received an email requesting photo of what has been received. We also sent a photo from website showing part advertised that was not delivered. After several calls and request that manager contacts us (which never happened), Makro has changed the information advertised online for this product so that the missing part is no longer included in photos. They also changed the picture on online order. Luckily I made a screenshot of initial online advert showing it prior to recent change. Makro is now saying the supplier (not Makro) has advised that the product didn’t include that part. Even the manual shows missing part. Makro refuses to accept responsibility that it was a misrepresentation and that Makro omitted to have a note in advert that part was not included. Other than photo and overall description of product, there was no list of individual parts in the advert or the manual demonstrating that photos included parts not regarded as part of purchase.

Reviewer Update
Received a generic reply from Makro about 3 weeks ago that they will investigate in response to review on Hellopeter. No feedback has been received wrt review. However, we received a follow up response from thread mentioned in initial review. The person contacted me and arrogantly asked me what would happen in there was a couch or a mirror in the picture? He advised that we should contact the ombudsman, which we have done.
