Makro,
It would have been 0 but alas we cannot choose it. Why is it that when we purchase an item online, we pay and the next day theres no stock we receive an sms that the order is cancelled, and refund will take place within 3 to 5 days. Now I am out of pocket, and needing the device, and need to wait, when you call the contact centre, they say they will get feedback to you, but nothing, who does not know the number to finance department, is it ****!!! Now if they do that to multiple people, imagine the interest they rake in, just by our money laying there. As I am typing this I am on the line, second time someone dropped the line on me, its starting to become a nightmare., sort it out

29 Jan 2026, 17:19Hi Makro Social Media Team,Thank you for the response. Unfortunately, it does not address the core issue and feels generic rather than corrective. The concern is not simply that the item was out of stock, it is that payment was accepted for an item that was not available, only for the order to be cancelled the following day. This places the customer out of pocket, without the required device, and forced to wait several days for a refund on funds already taken.During this time, repeated attempts to obtain clarity via your contact centre resulted in dropped calls and promises of feedback that never materialized. There appears to be no clear accountability or escalation path, particularly regarding the finance department responsible for refunds. When this happens at scale, customers are effectively providing interest-free short-term funding, while carrying the inconvenience and financial impact themselves. That is neither acceptable nor aligned with “efficient service.”An apology without a corrective action plan does not resolve this. I would like clarity on:
- Why payment is accepted when stock is not confirmed
- Why refunds take 3–5 days for a cancellation initiated by Makro
- What immediate steps are being taken to prevent this recurring
- Who can be contacted directly to resolve refund-related queries
