Lethargic check-out & more & never again

Today was the last straw & the absolute last time I shop at Makro Woodmead. Over the past 6-12 months, the lack of speed at the tills is absolutely hallucinating. I shop as a necessity ... I do NOT make it a social event where I enjoy spending 40 minutes in a queue on a TUE afternoon, not to mention dodging the shelf-packers who treat you as an irritation more than anything else. OH & when I ask for a price because no price is indicated ... I get "Hello ... how are you"? I am NOT on a social outing ... I am shopping out of necessity ... I'm NOT going to ask how the wife & kids are ... I didn't just walk into your personal living space ... I'm in a retail space. When I complained at the tills, after my epic ... S-L-O-W wait ... I was told the staff are NOT HAPPY. That some of them don't even get R2000. WHAT? Per hour/week/month? NOT HAPPY? Lethargic is the word ... couldn't give a hoot, terrified of getting a speed wobble on. AND ... if Walmart are treating their South African workers like slaves ... they need to be brought to book & NOT ALLOW CUSTOMERS TO SUFFER THIS ABERRATION OF RETAIL THAT SHOPPING AT MAKRO WOODMEAD HAS BECOME. It is an absolute embarrasment & nobody seems to give a damn. I will never go back ... SHOCKING, absolutely shocking. Management should bow their heads down in utter shame & embarrassment. Disgusting service all around.
