Lennovo laptop

I purchased a Lennovo laptop on the 1st of July and when I opened it the screen had cracked. Sadly I had to go to Mpumalanga for family responsiblity and my brother had an assignment to complete so he had to install the windows and a printer, I could only take back the laptop on the 8th of July upon retuning to Joburg. They took in the laptop for repairs and I was quoted R4495 to repair it, now I don't understand how I need to pay for something that I had bought whilst it was damaged and how is it possible that I'm quoted R4495 whereas I bought the laptop for R3999.

I enquired with the salesman and he said he'd get back to me and I still await his response. I travel 100kms to get to Centurion, can someone please explain why I've waited for almost 2months for something that I purchased damaged.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend anyone to purchase from Makro Centurion.
