Karcher floor cleaner FC5 warranty not honoured

I bought a Karcher floor cleaner from Makro on 2 March 2021. It stopped working and was returned on 5 Aug 2021. That is 5 months into its use. The warranty is 1 year. I received a quote of more than 55% the value of the item just to fix the useless one, when this should be covered under the warranty.

After going back and forth with Karcher, they finally told me Its my fault the machine broke, they wont cover it under the warranty and I must pay in more than half the value of the item to fix it.

Makro's done nothing except move the problem to Karcher.
