Impossible to get refund for falsely advertised product

I ordered a set of bluetooth headphones on Makro Online, but on opening the package I discovered that the product does not have bluetooth capabilities as advertised. I immediately attempted to return the product at the Cape Gate store, but was told it can only be returned via courier. This was on 1 May 2019. Note that this is flagrantly in contradiction to the Makro Online customer policy on their website.

My return request was logged on 2 May 2019. It took until 21 May 2019 (and several phone calls) for Makro to arrange for collection. The couriers then failed to arrive at my home on either of the consecutive two day intervals agreed for collection. I subsequently arranged (on 29 May) that the product be collected at an office that was open 8-5 every week day.

The items were only collected on the 20th or 21st of June. Since 29 May I have sent 6 emails to customer care, but am no longer receiving any replies. I have also called the Online support team several times. Each time there is some vague excuse about escalation or coming back to me shortly. I have called and emailed twice since collection to enquire about my refund.

Makro's returns policy on their website is extremely misleading, their customer service is nonexistent, and they are unable or unwilling to refund me for a **********ly advertised product. Shameful.
