I cant afford to throw money away

Quite funny, actually. I wanted to buy a fridge. Makro had the one I wanted, at R10,000. I was discussing delivery details with the sales lady, while checking prices on the Internet. HiFi Corp has the same fridge, also on special, for R9,500. They do have stock, in their shop very close to the Makro store.

I showed the sales lady the HiFi Corp price and she said "Dont worry about them. You are at Makro now and we will take care of you". Great, I thought. I will conclude the deal at Makro. We go to the till and the till lady scans the barcode that the sales lady took to the till and the price rings up at R10,000. I asked what about the R9,500? The sales lady again said dont worry about the other shop, I can pay the R10,000.

Just wow. R500 may not be much to (possibly overpaid???) Makro staff, but it will fill my small car's takn with petrol and still have change! Bye bye Makro.
