Horrible Service and No Response from Makro on Faulty Fridge Refund
I purchased a fridge from Makro on 28th September, and upon delivery, I noticed that the fridge door wasn’t closing properly. Makro called a Hisense technician to verify the issue. The technician tightened the bolts, but the door still wasn’t closing properly, leaving a noticeable finger-width gap. I compared this to the demo fridge in-store, which didn’t have the same issue.
Hisense submitted a report to Makro recommending a refund, and I provided all the necessary details as well. Despite this, I have not been contacted or refunded.
I already posted a review about this terrible experience, but since no one at Makro has bothered to respond, I’ve decided to complain again. If this process had been handled properly, I would have bought another fridge from Makro. But after this stressful and frustrating experience, I won’t be returning to the store—even for something as simple as a can of baked beans.
The service has been nothing short of horrible.

- Avoid the Call Centre – Instead of spending hours on hold with Makro's care centre, go directly to the store if possible. Bring your printed invoice and the technician’s report.
- Pickup Arrangement – If you can’t bring the item to the store yourself, go to the pickup station at Makro and request for someone to collect the item from your home. Or if you have a truck bring in the item yourself to avoid hassles.
- Follow the Collection – For larger items, if they’re collecting it from your home, follow the driver to the store. Go to the returns counter and insist on your refund.
