Generator is a time bomb
In December 2018 I bought a Ryobi Generator from Makro Centurion. In January my brother returned from holiday and helped me to unbox and assemble the wheels and feet. This Item weighs 80 kg so I couldn't do it before I had some help. The generator started fine but when turning it off, huge electrical spark are generated around the machine. There is obviously a short somewhere in the machine and with 25 liters of petrol sitting on top of it, the machine is completely unsafe to use. On 3 Jan 2019 I reported this to the national call centre at Makro. All details were given. I was not given a ref number due to the systems being offline but was told that a service call will be logged and I will be contacted. Got a call the next day to bring the machine in. Explained that due to the weight this will not happen. Okay someone will contact me again. Nothing from them. On the 7 th I complete the form on their website logging a complaint. Nothing. Today 10 Jan I called again, was told Lindeni who took my original call, will call me back. Nothing. I paid almost R9000 together with oil and a Jerrycan for a machine that now gathers dust in the garage. Load shedding is to commence middle January and I still don't have a generator
This is VERY POOR
