********** sales

During the festive season sales, on 18th of December I ordered a laptop special through the online portal (Order number MAK293154). The payment was accepted and the order informed me that it could take up to 40 days for delivery.

On the 14th of January (Almost a month after the order was placed), I receive a call from the local store where the delivery was to be made informing me that the item was not delivered to them because the supplier stated that they did not have stock of the item. On further queries, apparently the supplier can't inform them when they will receive stock in order to fill the order.

Therefore my order was cancelled and they said that my payment will be returned in 5 days time.

My issue is, how can a major corporation like Makro, advertise a special for an item without having the stock on hand to fill the orders. It's as if the entire point of the special was to prevent customers from purchasing items at other stores and to get a quick buck off clients that they could earn the interest of the money for.

Now I have had to pay bank charges for the two transactions, no interest earned for the money not being in my account over the month and I can't even Purchase a similar product from a competitor due to the festive sales period being finished.
