Faulty tent
Some time ago we asked the boys to buy us a tent from Makro. The tent is a Camp Master 500, which is a house brand of Massmart and only sold at Makro. We could not go camping as planned and then left the tent on the shelf (as we bought it in the bag) till we recently had the opportunity to go camping. Prior to the trip we decided to pitch the tent to fami****ise ourselves with the pitching procedures and found 2 of straps holding the poles being torn out, a clip linking the pole and brace not included in the bag, and one of the poles dismantled from the rest of it's parts.
We had absolutely no reason to check at the time of purchase that the parts were all included or that the tent was in useable condition.
Makro refuses to help as we're unable to find the proof of purchase and the boys cannot recall which Makro card was used to buy it. They also do not stock the parts of the tent even though it is their own house brand and not sold anywhere else. I've then asked for a quote or at least estimate as we're in Cape Town and apparently the tent has to be sent to Gauteng for repairs, yet no-one can seem to help us getting this brand new tent (it has never been used!) repaired.
