Faulty Samsung Product

Hi,

I am writing to Makro today due to conflicting information.

I purchased a Samsung 55” smart curved UHD LED TV on the 19th August 2016.

I’ve been astounded and functions of this TV hence this is what I decided to buy and enjoy up until a few weeks ago. Up until a few weeks ago I’ve been having issues with the product whereby lines appear on the screen, the TV switches off on its own, as well as the picture does not show intermittently (Sound is still there). I was really disappointed for a Samsung product to be having such a fault and immediately decided to check alternative ways to resolve this matter by checking the relevant Samsung website and forums in order to avoid carting my well looked after product up and down. I’ve checked to ensure that the latest firmware/software was loaded and also tried resetting the product to the factory settings of which both options failed and I had no other option but to enquire on how to send my product in for the relevant repairs. I then contacted the Makro call center and I was advised that I need to package the device and take it back to the store as this will need to be sent to the manufacturer for further investigation. I also done a bit of investigation online and it was noted that I would receive feedback within 10 working days.

I then decided to take some time off work on 05/06/2017 to make the relevant arrangements to take the product to the store to ensure that I get my device back at soonest. Upon entering the Crown Mines branch I advised the relevant persons of the issue and had sufficient evidence of what the actual product fault was as I’ve taken many pictures and videos on my phone of the TV basically acting up however the technicians insisted on opening the box to test the intermittent issue which it did not show.

Nonetheless, I am writing because the actual information under the peace of mind policy which can be found on the Makro website makes mention that this can take up to 10 days for feedback regarding a faulty product and I was advised by the team in store that this will take up to 4 – 6 weeks which I find to be a bit ridiculous.

My complaint is that this Television cost me R 14,999.00 and it was paid immediately upon buying the product. I did not make arrangements with Makro to pay installments for 4 – 6 weeks for the product.

Another issue I also found was to now pack the product and cart it up and down to Makro whom in turn will cart it up and down to Samsung. Please be assured that my TV is in a brand new condition as this still has the relevant plastics around the frame of the product and did not contain any scratches. I expect that this be returned in the same condtion and I have taken out the relevant pictures of the product prior to returning this back to Makro.

I need to know when i will receive feedback regarding my TV and when will i get my device fixed. If this problem persists i would expect and exchange or a full refund.
