Faulty item!

I bought a Polaroid Moji Active waterproof watch from Makro Alberton, the one i wanted for R399 was out of stock but we already paid as she made us pay upfront so the lady insisted we take the upgraded one for R500 which is waterproof! After the first day there was water in the watch, we opened it and left it to dry out. I came to Makro today to exchange the watch, and the clip on the side is missing, so they cant exchange it, i am taking responsibility for the clip but this would never have happened if the product was not faulty in the first place. Makro is not even prepared to consider to assist in anyway! Nomhle told me if they had the clip then they would exchange it and they would happily take the loss. So (1) the product was faulty from scratch (2) its not as if they will be able to resell a faulty item (3) if she only write it off as a loss to makro if i had the clip then why would it matter. (5) she told me to phone the supplier on Monday buy a clip and then return it. So now i must phone your supplier and spend more money to return a faulty item. I am not loosing R500 for something that my child used 1 day as none of this would have been neccessary if the product wasnt faulty!
