Faulty goods not honouring warranty

Purchased a CD player - Philips @ 568.00 Worked for two days then packed up Took it in expecting to exchange it for a working player I had changed the 2 pin Euro plug on the unit for a three pin 15 amp plug This according to Makro invalidates the warranty as it constitutes altering the product So a 21 day wait while the CD Player is sent to the supplier Will not be shopping at Makro again
