Expired Products and Poor Customer Service - Makro Online and C*****

Dear Hello Peter Team,

I'm writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with my recent online purchase from Makro. On April 17, 2025, I bought 6 cans of Krush Juice from Makro's online store, which were delivered to me on April 18, 2025. However, upon consumption, I discovered that the products had expired on April 16, 2025, just a day before I even purchased them!

I promptly logged a return request. Makro called me first to discuss the issue, but when I called them again to follow up, I was transferred from the customer care department to the store, where I spoke to a lady. However, she transferred me again without even informing me where she was transferring me. The phone kept ringing until my airtime depleted. Although they called me back, my phone only rang once, and it disconnected. When I asked them why they didn't stay on the line or call back, they claimed the call just disconnected, and they didn't attempt to call back again.

The Makro representative I spoke to also informed me that I couldn't return the products because I exceeded the 14-day return window and that their drivers can only collect full packages, which seems unreasonable given that I only noticed the expiry after consuming some of the products.

I find it unacceptable that Makro sold expired products and has such inflexible return policies. I also hold C*****, the manufacturer, responsible for ensuring their products are fresh and within their expiration dates. The poor customer service I've experienced has further exacerbated my dissatisfaction.

My complaints are:

1. Selling expired products that were already past their expiration date at the time of purchase 2. Unreasonable return policy 3. Poor customer service, including unprofessional call handling and lack of follow-up

I request:

1. A full refund 2. A formal apology 3. Improved quality control and customer service
