DO NOT PURCHASE A TV FROM THEM

I purchased a 65 inch Hisense TV on the 3rd of December 2016 from Strubens Valley.

17 days after purchase, while watching a TV show, a small crack appeared on the screen. I immediately switched off the TV and took it back to the store. After standing in a long queue, I was told that the store cannot accept that size TV been brought in and that they will call be the next morning and arrange for someone to collect.

The following day someone did call and said that they have arranged collection.

January arrived and no one showed up. I called twice to the store to get this resolved and on both occasions I was told that someone would call me back and no one did.

I went to the store and spoke to two managers, the second been the TV department manager, she promised me that she would get someone to collect ASAP.

After a long battle with people at Makro someone came and collected the TV.

The worst part about this whole experience is that 2 months after the TV went faulty I get told that the damage is caused by physical abuse by yet there are no signs that the TV has been abused. The glass covering the LCD screen is perfect without a single mark, the TV casing does not have a scratch on it.

Surely, if the screen brakes without any evidence of physical abuse then it is a manufacturing defect, or is Makro saying that you should never even move / touch your TV as this might be seen as abuse.

I wish that someone at Makro can explain the definition of physical abuse as no external element has been damaged and the part that is damaged is internal!!!

Good day,
I understand that the store has been in-contact with you and the issue is now resolved.
