Do not place online orders with Makro

I placed an online order on 02/11/2023 with a notification that it would take 2-5 working days for delivery (the order had to be sourced from a 3rd party supplier). 8 working days later, the order status had not changed from 'order in progress'. Emails to support went unanswered apart from automated 'we are receiving high email volumes' replies. 2 calls to the support lines offer no indication of delivery. I phoned the supplier directly, who located my order number and informed me that Makro is having trouble with online orders with no ETA on when it will be resolved. The supplier confirmed they have stock and can deliver within the same day. Unfortunately, I have to cancel my Makro order to get my refund so I can pay the supplier. Makro support consultants have told me that a refund will take anywhere from 7-14 working days. I do not recommend using Makro for orders that can be directly sourced from the supplier and this has been a huge waste of my time.
